Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information VidSwitcher collects, why, and the choices you have. VidSwitcher is operated by 15920531 Canada Inc., an Ontario, Canada corporation operating as VidSwitcher ("we", "us"). We handle personal information in line with Canada's PIPEDA, and, where applicable, the EU/UK GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA.

1. What we collect

• Insider list & trial requests. The email address you give us, and your express consent to be contacted.
• Messages you send us. When you use the contact form on our support or pricing pages, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply.
• Purchases. Handled by Paddle, our payment processor and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your billing and payment details under its own privacy policy; we receive order and licence records, not your full card number.
• Licensing. To activate and manage your licence key we process a machine fingerprint and activation records through our licensing provider, Keygen.
• Website use. Our pages use Google Ads conversion measurement: a Google tag that records when a visit from one of our ads leads to a free-trial signup or a purchase, so we can tell which ads work. When it is on it may set cookies, and Google receives information such as your IP address, browser details and the page you arrived from. We use it for measurement only — not for ad personalisation or remarketing. When you sign up for a trial or buy after clicking one of our ads, the tag also gives Google your email address in hashed (scrambled) form, so Google can match the signup or purchase to the ad click on a signed-in Google account; Google calls this enhanced conversions, and uses it under its Google Ads Data Processing Terms to report the conversion to us, not to build advertising profiles. This only happens where ad measurement is on. If you are in the EU/EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Quebec, these cookies stay off unless you choose Accept; elsewhere they are on by default. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, and a browser that sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is treated as having said no. Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and page requested) to serve and protect the site, and tells our pages which country a visit comes from so we know whether to ask about cookies. The homepage uses your browser’s session storage only to remember that you closed the free-trial banner; it is cleared when you close the tab.
• Cookies and browser storage, by name. Google Ads (only when ad measurement is on): _gcl_au and _gcl_aw, first-party cookies that link an ad click to a later signup or purchase, kept for about 90 days. Ours: vs_consent in local storage (your cookie choice, until you clear it) and a session-storage note that you closed the trial banner. Paddle may set its own cookies on the checkout page. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and its privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
• Fonts. Our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads.
• Checkout. The checkout page loads Paddle’s secure checkout, which may set its own cookies to process your payment and prevent fraud. Those are governed by Paddle’s privacy policy.

The VidSwitcher desktop application runs offline. Your show files never leave your machine, and we do not collect the content you load into the app.

2. Why we use it

To send you the trial key and product updates you asked for, to fulfil and support your purchase, and to activate and protect licences. We rely on your consent for marketing email and on the performance of our contract with you for purchases and licensing.

3. Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers that make the product work: Paddle (payments & tax), Keygen (licensing), Brevo (email delivery), Cloudflare (hosting), Google Fonts (web fonts), and Google Ads (measuring which ads lead to signups and purchases, including a hashed email for enhanced conversions where measurement is on). We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Some providers process data outside Canada; we rely on appropriate contractual safeguards where required.

4. Email consent & unsubscribe

We only send marketing email with your express opt-in consent, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Joining the insider list is that consent, and the 28-day trial key is sent as part of it. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us — your licence key keeps working either way. Emails about a purchase you have made — your licence key, receipts, and account notices — are not marketing and are sent regardless.

5. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and (where GDPR/CCPA applies) portability or objection to processing. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing to opt out of on that basis; you can still switch off ad measurement at any time with Cookie settings, and we honour recognised browser privacy signals, including Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC), where they apply. To make a request, email support@vidswitcher.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

6. Children

VidSwitcher is a professional tool sold to businesses and working technicians. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

7. Retention

We keep insider-list data until you unsubscribe, and purchase and licensing records for as long as needed to support the product and meet legal and tax obligations. Where we no longer need your information and are not required to keep it, we delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product or the law changes. The current version is always posted here with its effective date, and we will give prominent notice of any material change.
